The Best Trip to The Hospital Yet!
The Best News From the Doctor!
I have not written a post in a week because I have been In Boston! I have great news that I would like to share with you.
My family and I look forward to going to Boston even though we've been going every month since August. I always get nervous about the upcoming appointments but I try not to think about it too much. This previous appointment gave me good news and a great change!
When we got to the hospital, I got the usual pre-appointment x-rays. When Erin, from Dr. Shore's office came in, she told me that there was good news to share. Dr Shore confirmed that I can now BEND MY KNEES!!!! What a great feeling to bend my knees, again. This means that I can sit up better in my chair, I can move around my own house, I can go in my room, brush my teeth at my own sink and, most importantly, PRIMP IN FRONT OF MY OWN MIRROR! My family and I went right out to celebrate with CHEESE FRIES AND CHICKEN WINGS.
It feels so great to sit up and move around more. After six months, relaxing on the chaise gets boring. I NEVER want to sit on the chaise, again (HAHA) I know this appointment was a turning point for me and that I must be getting back to normal. I know it was worth it and a lot of hard work but it is a good feeling to know that I've done it and for a good reason. I look back at all the times I said "oh my gosh, this is never going to end," and know that I am now me again.
I still have a long way to go. Light physical therapy will start soon. I have a lot of work still ahead of me to make sure that I can sit, stand, walk and breath easy. For anyone else going through a tough time, know that you'll get there; it just takes time and patience. You can do it.
