Ten Top Tens Day 3
Top Ten reasons to look foreword to (gulp high school)
It’s High school!! Don’t get me wrong I am a bit nervous about my first year of high school. A new building, (it’s like a maze) new everything. I am looking forward to all of the freedom you have in the building! Classes are about 82 minutes long and I know that sounds like a long time and it is the teachers that I met on our orientation said that the classes go by faster than we would think.
The chance of being valedictorian! I’m not trying to get ahead of myself here but I have been pretty pumped up since I came top ten in my class! I know it takes a lot of hard work and time but I am up for the challenge!
New locker! It was very hard saying goodbye to my locker this year considering that it was my very first locker. But the lockers in highschool are HUGE! I am trying to convince my mom on letting me get a chandelier or pixie lights to put in there. I have a lot of pictures to scatter around so it will be pretty full as is. I am going to get a couple more shelves so I can reach everything easy!
Freedom of choice. I love that I get to choose some of the classes that I would be able to take my first year. Towards the end of this year I get to choose my classes that I would take my freshman year! Some of the classes that I will be taking this coming year is, Algebra 1, Global 1, Band and Espanol 1.
New Teachers I got to meet some of the many teachers that I will have this year and they all sound very nice. But at the same time I will really miss all of my teachers from this year.
One step closer to graduation. This is probably one of the scariest parts but at the same time the most exciting. I have already been researching which colleges offer child life specialist degrees. I am hoping to go out to CiTi BOCES my junior and senior year for early childhood development to see if it is something I really want to do.
I’ve heard that high school is one of the best years of your life. I can’t believe that these next 4 years are going to be my last years of school! My awesome sitter is always telling me and my brother how amazing highschool is! I am going to really soak up all of this highschool time I have before college!
Making memories. Myself and all of my friends are really looking forward to highschool for the most part. We are very excited to see who is in what classes (I am trying to convince a few of my friends to join drama club with me. So far they don’t want to at all but I’ll get there).
Dances. I have also heard that high school dances are better than middle school dances! I heard that they are longer than the ones at the middle school and there are more snacks! (my favorite part)
Clubs. Like I have mentioned before I want to get really involved in my after school activities: I would like to join student council, drama club, yearbook committee and whatever stands out to me!
That's all for now! See you all next week for another top ten!
